This module aims to provide you, the learner, with the relevant knowledge, skills and competence to understand the importance of administration and the roles of the administrator in the efficient running of all types of organisations, including private sector, public sector and educational settings. It will help you to understand and evaluate the role of administration within all functions and departments of organisations, to develop communication, decision making and time management skills which will allow the administrator to complete their work function to maximum effect, and to develop excellent organisational skills using a host of information and communications technologies. It will also provide you with the opportunity to be more aware of current legislation with regard to administration practices, and to enable you to develop the skills to work with a high level of personal autonomy.
Learning at your own pace doesn’t mean learning alone. At Lir, our Fully Online, Self-Paced course in Reception and Frontline Office Skills is designed for busy learners who want the freedom to study when it suits them – while still having access to real guidance, structure, and human support.
Studies show that learners in online environments with flexible pacing perform just as well as in-person learners – when clear structure and tutor interaction are present. (Source: Bernard et al., 2009; Moore et al., 2011, Journal of Distance Education)
