This is called Protection for Enrolled Learners (PFL).

Here’s how it works:  Most Lir QQI modules run for 8–10 weeks, which is under the 3-month threshold for PFL.  If your course is advertised and scheduled to run for longer than 3 months, and you’ve paid fees, and the company ceases to exist, we are legally required to ensure you can:
- Complete your course with another QQI-approved provider, or
- Receive a refund for the unfinished portion.

👉 Note: If you request an extension that brings your course duration beyond 3 months, a fee will apply. The granting of an Extension to the duration of your course is at the discretion of Lir Management.

✅ Lir has formal PFL agreements in place with two approved online training providers, ensuring your learning journey is protected.

You can raise any issues or complaints via the official Learner Complaints Form. Appeals on results are handled through procedures outlined in your Learner Handbook and QA policies.

You’ll need to provide your PPSN, date of birth, and gender for QQI registration, which Lir collects securely and submits to QQI
