Welcome to our Hotel and Front Line Office Skills Course – your gateway to success in the fast-paced and dynamic world of front office management! This programme module is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills and competence required to operate effectively in a front office department (including hotel reception) of an organisation, or hotel, either independently or in a supervisory capacity. At the end of this exciting course, you will have mastered the key characteristics of front office staff, and will have a thorough understanding of health and safety legislation and emergency procedures applicable to the Front Office area. You will be able to create and maintain office systems and documented procedures for the smooth flow of information in and out of a front office area, utilising a range of data networking communications and appropriate software packages and apps. You will also learn how to set up contingency plans to ensure a smooth operation of the front office area in the event of unplanned events occurring.
In addition to these vital skills, this course will also enable you to engage in staff development, evaluate performance management strategies, and provide exceptional front office service and support. The successful completion of this programme will open up many exciting transfer and progression options for you. You may transfer to a programme leading to certification in one of the other Level 6 QQI major or special purpose awards with Lir. You may also progress to other appropriate programmes leading to awards at the next level of the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ), providing you with a host of exciting career opportunities.
